Liberty is an upmarket London department store founded in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty. It sells women's, men's and children's clothing, beauty products, jewellery, accessories, furniture, stationery and gifts, and is known for its floral and graphic prints. It has collaborated with many notable artists and designers, including William Morris, Vivienne Westwood, and Yves Saint Laurent. Similar to department stores such as Harrods, Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason, Liberty’s British heritage is appealing to both domestic and international consumers.

Total sales at Liberty Retail rose 41.6% to £116.2m in the year to end-January 2023 (FY2022), reflecting a 75.6% surge in sales at the Regent Street flagship as it was able to trade for the full year, and a 9.1% rise in online sales. Profits came under pressure, however, with the business only marginally profitable at the operating level and pre-tax losses increasing to £2.6m.
