Littlewoods' home shopping arm is preparing for a hefty data centre move next spring as it relocates its head office from Liverpool to a converted hanger at Speke, Liverpool's old airport.
The retailer runs two 'parallel' data centres, with one taking over if a breakdown occurs. They process information generated by Littlewoods-branded businesses.
The relocation to Speke involves moving only one of the data centres, a project that Littlewoods computer services director Dave Davies describes as an 'interesting' challenge.
