LK Bennett is to release a limited edition version of its spring 2010 wedges after they were worn by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge on the day after her wedding to Prince William.
Catherine was photographed walking hand in hand with William outside Buckingham Palace on April 30 wearing a navy blue dress from womenswear retailer Zara and a pair of black patent Greta wedges from LK Bennett.
To celebrate Catherine’s choice of footwear, LK Bennett said it would release an updated version of the shoe in black patent called the Kate.
A spokeswoman for LK Bennett said the retailer was “thrilled” that Kate chose to wear its footwear.
The limited edition Kate shoe has a slightly different shape from the Greta with more of an almond toe and the platform has been removed.
The retailer will also release two further colour versions in turquoise and red. The shoe will be available in stores from June priced at £165 and can currently be pre-ordered via LK Bennett’s mail order service.
