Ethical cosmetics retailer Lush has reported turnover is 8% ahead in the first eight months to February 28.
In its last financial year ending June 30, 2010, Lush turnover increased 15% to £247m. Pre-tax profit was up from £13.9m to £22.3m.
The number of shops reached 671, up 3%. This year a further 72 shops have opened and it is now operating in 46 countries having added Kosovo, Serbia and Portugal.
Lush chief executive Andrew Gerrie said: “Although the earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan have caused great concern for us we were very fortunate that none of our colleagues were lost in these tragic events. We are working to support those affected. Beyond this we still see a world that is full of opportunity for our business.”
