Luxury goods retailer LVMH recorded revenue of €7.8bn (£6.7bn) in the first half, reflecting a slight increase against the same period in 2008 despite the global economic crisis and a strong comparable performance.
Chairman and chief executive Bernard Arnault said: “The first-half results once again demonstrate the exceptional appeal of our brands as well as the effectiveness of our strategy.”
Its Sephora fascia registered revenue growth in all of its markets in the first half and an increase in its profit from recurring operations.
Sephora’s network of stores is still growing in the most promising markets, notably in China where expansion continues at a sustained pace.
