Amazon has launched a new online service offering low-cost goods in the US which is set to challenge the likes of discount retailers Shein and Temu.
The service, dubbed “Amazon Haul”, can be found within the Amazon shopping app and mobile website offering fashion, home, lifestyle, electronics and more at the cost of $20 (£15.70) or less.
Amazon Haul has its own shopping experience, search, cart and checkout for customers to build up items with many sold for $10 (£7.87) and under and some sold for as low as $1 (79p). For baskets $50 (£39.30) and over, customers can receive 5% or 10% off orders over $75 (£59) or more.
Orders of $25 (£19.60) or more qualify for free delivery in one to two weeks, with a fee of $3.99 (£3.14) on orders under $25 (£19.60). Amazon also offers free returns on purchases over $3 (£2.36) within 15 days of delivery as well as convenient returns at over 8,000 drop-off locations across the US.
All items stocked on Amazon Haul are covered by the retailers A-to-Z guarantee, meaning customers are protected when they buy an item. This covers product condition if an item is damaged, defective, or not as described.
Amazon vice president of worldwide selling partner services Dharmesh Mehta said: “Finding great products at very low prices is important to customers, and we continue to explore ways that we can work with our selling partners so they can offer products at ultra-low prices.
“Amazon Haul aims to help make shopping for fashion, home, lifestyle, electronics, and other products even more fun, easy, and affordable, all backed by Amazon’s A-to-z product guarantee. This way, customers can shop with confidence that the products they’re purchasing are safe, authentic, and in the condition expected.
“It’s early days for this experience, and we’ll continue to listen to customers as we refine and expand it in the weeks and months to come.”
