Marks & Spencer’s Asia boss Pascal Martin is to leave the retailer next month as chief executive Marc Bolland aims to turnaround M&S’ fortunes.
Martin, who has been in the role since 2011, will leave in October to “pursue new opportunities outside the business”.
He will be replaced by former Calvin Klein Europe retail director Bruce Findlay who was also previously an executive at Tommy Hilfiger in Asia-Pacific, Sky News reported.
M&S has 120 stores in the region across its company-owned shops in China and Hong Kong, its Indian joint venture with Reliance Retail and franchised stores across Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand.
Bolland has moved to shake up his senior team as he looks to arrest the retailer’s declining general merchandise sales. Multichannel boss Dom McBrien left in August and ‘Knicker Queen’ Janie Schaffer left in April.
An M&S spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that Pascal Martin is leaving M&S at the end of October to pursue new opportunities outside of the business. We’d like to thank Pascal for his contribution over the last couple of years and wish him well for the future.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Findlay as Regional Director, Asia. Bruce has extensive international retail experience.”
