Monsoon is a womenswear and kidswear retailer which operates the Monsoon and Accessorize brands. Monsoon was founded by Peter Simon in 1973, with the first Accessorize store opening in 1984. In 2019 the retailer turned to a CVA in order to reduce its store portfolio and rents. From 2016, Monsoon has been decoupling the stores in order to focus on individual brand images, with the coupled stores revealed as some of the worst performers in the CVA. The retailer operates around 800 international branches in over 60 markets and 450 in the UK.
