Moss Bros has appointed Paul Sheldon as its new director of buying.
Sheldon joins form Burtons, where he was buying director.
He will be responsible for increasing margin through better sourcing, as well as working closely with suppliers to maximise its profitability.
Sheldon has also held similar roles at Next, Next Directory and Next Sourcing.
Moss Bros chief executive Philip Mountford said: “We are very pleased to have secured someone of Paul’s calibre to join Moss Bros Group. He will bring focus and direction to the buying team which is critical in these challenging times. Paul’s past experience will help continue to drive the customer appeal of our product range.”
In September the menswear retailer reshuffled its board, appointing Ciaran McCloskey to the main board as group trading director.
McCloskey joined the retailer in June last year, as director of business development and retail operations for the retailer's Moss division.
Speciality Retail Group founder Brian Brick was appointed non-executive director at the same time.
Moss Bros non-executive directors Robert Marsh stepped down from the board in August, while Rowland Gee, who is a member of one of the Moss Bros founding families, is to step down in February.
