The retailer increased like-for-like sales by 2.4 per cent in the 28 weeks to October 9 compared with a 6.4 per cent increase for the same period last year.
Chief executive Ben Gordon said: 'The successful transformation of Mothercare continues with sales up almost 9 per cent over a two year period. Our autumn/winter ranges have been well received and we approach the important Christmas season with confidence.'
Evolution analyst Nick Bubb said the statement was 'encouraging', adding, 'this is a brand with lots more potential'.
