Murphy & Nye in franchise hunt

Nautical fashion brand Murphy & Nye is looking for franchise partners to expand its retail presence in the UK.

Wholesale director Jason Lynch said there is potential for about 10 shops in the UK, following the success of stores on George Street in Edinburgh and Cowes in the Isle of Wight.

'There's no time limit, but 10 stores feels about right. Our franchise partners are looking to open more stores,' he said.

Murphy & Nye, part of Italian group Sixty, competes with Henri Lloyd and Timberland. The brand is represented in 56 countries and there are 54 standalones, in countries such as Italy and Russia.
