As well as the women’s, men’s and accessories collections, there will be a traditional barber shop, Sweeney Ted’s, created by The Cutting Room, that will offer haircuts and wet shaves. This part of the store will be roped off by a curtain fashioned from vintage telephone cords.
The store will also feature The Laboratory, an audio and mobile technology lounge, provided by The Carphone Warehouse, which will stock – among other things – Ted Baker-branded phones.
There will also be a concierge service, Baker’s Butler, giving shoppers the option to have their lifestyles managed. The range of services on offer will vary from dog-walking to a party for your grandmother, according to the company.
The retailer will provide a complimentary shoe- and bag-shine service from Street Shine, a company that finds the homeless employment.
Ted Baker released a buoyant Christmas trading update last month, when it revealed that sales had risen 12.5 per cent for its retail division in the period from November 1 to December 24. Preliminary results for the year to January 26 are to be unveiled on March 18.
