Sports giant Nike is set to open its first full-price retail park store in Chester this October.
Nike already operates outlet stores in retail parks but this is the first time it has opened a full-price store, signalling the growing popularity of retailers expanding out of town.
Nike will occupy the former JJB Sports store and will join retailers including Tesco, BHS, River Island and Next at Broughton Shopping Park, owned by Hercules Unit Trust, a retail park fund managed by Schroders and advised by British Land.
British Land senior asset manager Edward Cree said: “We are continuing to actively evolve and reposition our shopping park portfolio. Nike is a fantastic addition to the park, will further broaden the offer at Broughton and adds another worldwide recognised brand to the Hercules portfolio.”
