Members only home and garden etailer Achica, set up by Asos co-founder Quentin Griffiths, is aiming for huge growth this year after it broke even in recent months.
Turnover rocketed 650% to £14.7m in the period and it has forecast turnover will hit £60m for the current financial year.
Achica managing director and co-founder Griffiths said: “This year has started strongly. “We’re expecting to grow significantly our membership base and achieve another big leap in turnover to over £60 million based on the current run rate.”
Initially specialising in home and garden, Achica now also offers fashion accessories, food and drink, art, travel and childrenswear.
The online retailer, which has 800,000 members in the UK and Europe, launched in France in February, and in March began trading in Spain. It is planning to launch in a further two countries this year.
Achica chief executive and co-founder William Cooper said: “Despite a difficult retail climate, Achica has performed exceptionally well in its first full year of trading.”
The etailer, which has been trading for two years, offers discounted products through ‘flash sales’.
