Reevoo has added consumer electronics brands Toshiba, Hotpoint and Sharp to its network of retailers and suppliers who use its service to publish product reviews on their sites.
Consumers who visit these sites can read reviews of the brands’ products generated by retailers who use the Reevoo service, and retailers’ customers will be able to read reviews generated by the brands.
Of the three brands only Sharp has a transactional website, but the other two collect information when customers provide details for the warranty that allows them to contact customers to see if they would like to write a review.
Reevoo works with retailers including Dixons, PC World, Vodafone, Jessops and Tesco Direct.
Sharp head of ecommerce Matthew van Gessel said adding customer reviews is increasing the conversion rate on its site. “Product reviews are fast becoming a central part of the buying process for many consumers,” he said.
The brands add to the increasing number of manufacturers using consumer-generated content to add to their product information online.
