Oswald Boateng revamps concession

Oswald Boateng has revamped its Selfridges, Oxford Street, concession, with a design created by Leicester-based consultancy Checkland Kindleysides. It aims to boost the brand's status as a creator of bespoke suits. The 420 sq ft (40 sq m) area, which opened this month, is on the first floor and features marquetry work using two types of wood to create the brand's signature herringbone detail. Clothing is set against red-stitched ochre leather panels to suggest traditional English style. The theme is carried on to the floor, which is covered with ruby-red carpets. Accessories are displayed in two mid-floor cabinets with a two-tone wood base, a backlit glass surface, a glass top and display drawers for accessories. There is also an area where customers can browse fabric books.
