B&Q director Steve Robinson has left the DIY retailer to join furniture and homewares etailer Achica as its new chief operating officer.
Robinson, former boss of fashion etailer M&M Direct, joined B&Q last year as customer director to drive its multichannel business.
B&Q has not yet found a replacement for Robinson.
In an internal announcement seen by Retail Week, B&Q chief executive Martyn Phillips said: “During the last 20 months he has helped set the vision for omnichannel and more importantly has helped to engage the business in the need to change how we work to become a powerful omnichannel force in the Home Improvement Market.
“Having achieved these initial aims, Steve has decided that it is time to take up another role outside of the group and will be leaving us at the end of July.”
Phillips added that B&Q will conduct a “small review” of its structure “to ensure that we have the perfect structure for the next stage of our customer and omni journey”.
The review is expected to be completed by the end of July.
