Following a review of FTSE leadership gender balance, Retail Week looks at how the retail industry is faring.
In 2016 the Hampton-Alexander review set a target for 33% of leadership positions in all the FTSE 350 companies to be held by women, but with just over a year to hit that target there is still a long way to go.
The pool of women with board experience is continuously growing with over 900 females serving on FTSE 350 boards, however only 25 have been appointed as chair.
In the FTSE 100 around two thirds of leadership positions are still going to men.
