Home shopping group N Brown’s new chief executive Angela Spindler took up her role today.
Spindler joined from the Original Factory Shop where she held the same position. Her priorities at N Brown, a £750m home shopping business, are expected to include growing online sales, building its burgeoning stores business and ensuring its overseas arm in the US and Germany turns a profit.
Spindler succeeded Alan White, who revealed he was to retire last July after 25 years with the business including the last 10 as chief executive. He plans to build a portfolio of non-executive roles.
Spindler was at the helm of Original Factory Shop for four years. Before that she was managing director of Debenhams and has also held senior roles at George at Asda.
As she handed over the reins to her successor Tony Page at Original Factory Shop, Spindler last month revealed a 30% surge in EBITDA to £13m at the value chain.
