Bargain Booze owner Conviviality Retail appoints former Jessops boss David Adams as its new chairman.
Adams, who is a non-executive director of Conviviality currently, will replace Roger Pedder on January 31.
Conviviality said Adams has been a “valuable addition to the Board since his appointment in July 2013 and brings significant experience to the role”.
As its executive chairman, Adams spearheaded a rescue deal with Jessops’ banks in 2009 and has also held the position of finance director at retailers including Burtons and House of Fraser.
Conviviality has also hired Martin Newman, chief executive of ecommerce consultancy Practicology, as a non-executive director. Newman has appeared in Retail Week’s Etail Power List for the past four years.
Conviviality chief executive Diana Hunter said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Roger for his stewardship of the business over the past eight years and wish him all the best. I would also like to welcome both Martin and Steve to the Board, who along with David as Chairman will work with me to shape Conviviality for the future.”
Roger Pedder has notified the Board of his wish to resign as Chairman of the Board and as a Director of the Company with effect from 31 January 2014. The Board would like to thank Roger for his contribution over the past eight years, and wish him well for the future.
