Burberry has announced that Kate Ferry will join the luxury fashion retailer as its new chief financial officer and executive director.
Ferry will begin her role at Burberry in September this year, taking responsibility for finance and business services functions as well as reporting to chief executive Jonathan Akeroyd as a member of the board and executive committee.
Ferry joins the luxury retailer from McLaren Group, where she worked as chief financial officer for two years. She also previously held roles at TalkTalk and is currently an independent non-executive director at Greggs.
Ferry said of her appointment: “I am thrilled to be joining Burberry at such an exciting time in the company’s development.
“I look forward to working closely with Jonathan and the rest of the Burberry leadership team to help realise the full potential of this iconic British luxury brand.”
Akeroyd added: “I am very pleased to announce Kate’s appointment as chief financial officer.
“Kate has extensive experience of public markets, business transformation and development, and an excellent understanding of the luxury industry.
“She is a strong addition to our leadership team and I am excited about her joining to support this next phase of Burberry’s development.”
