B&Q has hired a new finance director as James Skelton moves to a group role.
Christian Mazauric, who is at present chief finance officer of B&Q’s sister chain Castorama, will join the board as finance director for B&Q UK and Ireland in September.
Skelton will remain in the role until Mazauric has completed his induction, before moving across to an undisclosed group role where he will work under Kevin O’Byrne, Kingfisher divisional chief executive for B&Q.
Mazauric has been at Kingfisher for 11 years and has been Castorama chief finance officer since 2008. The Frenchman has worked in the UK before, at Marks & Spencer, earlier in his career. He will be relocating with his family to live near the head office in Southampton.
In June, the DIY giant strengthened its board with two appointments including the permanent hire of former M and M Direct boss Steve Robinson as customer director. He had joined the business on an interim basis earlier this year. At the same time Ebru Sayilan was promoted to the role of commercial director for seasonal and decorative.
