Currys has announced a fourth pay rise in 18 months for nearly 10,000 store colleagues in the UK.
The minimum hourly rate for store colleagues will rise from £10.35 to £10.50 across the UK and to £11.50 in London.
The electricals giant also said the average store colleague bonus is 89p per hour, with top earners making as much as an additional £3 per hour, meaning the average hourly pay with a bonus will rise to £11.39 per hour.
Currys will also give colleagues who have passed a six-month onboarding and skills development programme – and who are performing well – a minimum hourly rate increase to £10.80 across the UK or £11.80 in London.
The six-month programme helps new store colleagues build confidence through transferable skills that can support lifelong employability.
Other colleague benefits include uncapped bonus potential, extensive wellbeing support, colleague discount and Currys’ employee assistance programme.
Currys chief people, communications and sustainability officer Paula Coughlan said: “We know that investing in our colleagues is the most important thing we can do, especially with the continued cost-of-living crisis. This latest increase means that we are one of the highest-paying retailers in the UK.
“I am really proud that we can continue to show our support for our amazing capable and committed colleagues, who are our magic ingredient, and at the heart of everything we do. We know that happy colleagues make for happy customers and happy shareholders too.”
