Yvonne Rankin, chief executive of drinks retailing group First Quench, has resigned for reasons of ill health

Rankin, who joined First Quench as chief executive in September 2007 from international retailer AS Watson, has been on long-term sick leave, during which time her role has been fulfilled by chief financial officer Martin Healy.

Healy will continue in the role of acting chief executive.
