Game has promoted Ben White to group finance director, replacing David Thomas who is leaving the retailer to join house builder Barratt Developments.

White, who is group reporting and investor relations director at present, will join the board when Thomas leaves on July 2.

White joined Game in 2005 and prior to that held several senior finance roles at Kingfisher, Serco Group and HIT Entertainment.

Game chief executive Lisa Morgan said: “Ben’s comprehensive knowledge and understanding of our business will be of great value to the board. He has built an excellent reputation both internally and externally during his time with the group. I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in his new role as we build on the success of our business.”
