Former group CEO of MuscleFood and Shop Direct executive Gareth Jones is joining personalised jewellery company Abbott Lyon as chair.
Jones, who currently holds roles as a non-executive director of White Stuff, Jigsaw and Moss Bros, as well as chair of sustainable fashion brand AYM Studio, joins the brand at a time of growth as Abbott Lyon reports that it has doubled in size during the past year.
Pureplay retailer Abbott Lyon sells personalised jewellery, watches, handbags and phone accessories.
Jones will work alongside founder and chief executive Jezz Skelton and operations director Nicolas Skelton, focusing on growing the business in the UK, US and Germany. He will begin his new role this week.
Jezz Skelton said: “I’m delighted to welcome Gareth to the team and look forward to working with him to deliver the next phase of our growth. We’re encouraged that since restrictions have been lifted the business continues to see positive results.”
Jones added: “It’s great to see pureplay brands like Abbott Lyon that really understand customer desire and then deliver in a way that’s credible and personalised. The race for customers’ disposal income starts with having an intimate understanding of who they are and delivering against it. Abbott Lyon has done this tremendously well.
“The demand for meaningful, high-quality, personalised jewellery has exploded during the pandemic. I’m absolutely delighted to be supporting Jezz and the Abbott Lyon team to scale the business globally.”
