Former HMV chief executive Trevor Moore has been made redundant by the collapsed entertainment retailer’s administrator Deloitte after just six months in the role.
Moore replaced former chief executive Simon Fox in August before the business collapsed into administration last month following poor Christmas trading.
Moore, who was formerly the boss of collapsed camera specialist Jessops, left the business last week along with 59 other head office staff including marketing director Mark Hodgkinson.
Hodgkinson’s departure is a high profile one after an employee took over HMV’s Twitter account earlier this month. One of the tweets said the “marketing director” had asked “How do I shut down Twitter?” and also claimed “he’s staying, folks”.
Hodgkinson joined HMV from Asda in October 2011 and has also held senior roles at Virgin Money and music label EMI.
Deloitte last week revealed plans to close 66 of HMV’s 220 stores when stocks run out.
