John Lewis Partnership has appointed Lisa Cherry as executive director for people.
Cherry joins from the Post Office where she is group chief people officer and will take up the partnership role in early September. She succeeds Nikki Humphrey who is joining Virgin Group.
As well as the Post Office, Cherry has previously worked at Sainsbury’s, WHSmith and garden centre group Wyevale.
John Lewis Partnership said at the Post Office, she had helped “evolve the organisation during a time of change”. The partnership is in the midst of its own transformation programme.
At John Lewis she will “work to create a people proposition that rewards and develops partners, provides exceptional health and wellbeing support, and improves our diversity and inclusion, so we reflect the communities we serve”.
John Lewis Partnership chair Dame Sharon White said: “I’m delighted that Lisa is joining the partnership. She brings a wealth of experience and an impressive background in retail. Lisa has a strong sense of purpose, which makes her a great fit.
“Nikki has made a major contribution to the partnership, working tirelessly to set the foundations for a modern, more relevant partner proposition informed by partners.”
