B&Q and Screwfix owner Kingfisher has hired Asda’s vice-president data and analytics as its new chief data officer.
Dr Simon Jury, who held the role at Asda for two years, began his new role at home improvement giant Kingfisher this month.
Jury took to LinkedIn to announce his new role, describing his time at Asda as “exhilirating”.
“So much to celebrate in Asda; growing a cross-enterprise analytics function, laying the foundations for a world-leading data ecosystem, suffering the slings and arrows of UK retail!” Wrote Jury.
“By a distance; what I will miss most are the incredible, passionate and hard-workding data professionals I had the privilege to work alongside. You’ve made this journey unforgettable, and I wish you all nothing but success in everything that lies ahead.
Pre-emptive thanks to all my new friends and colleagues in Kingfisher. Can’t wait to get stuck in.”
In February, Jury will lead a keynote at Retail Week x The Grocer LIVE 2025, exploring the untapped potential that remains for data in retail.
The session will explore the world beyond first-party internal data, the new indispensable data sources creating value and how to link data strategy to business goals.
