Maplin multichannel director Ryan Thomas has left the company less than a year after joining the electricals retailer.
Maplin poached the former head of marketing and direct channels at Comet to become its first multichannel director last year.
Thomas will not be replaced and his responsibilities will be divided up within its commercial and online teams.
It is understood Thomas has left the retailer to pursue other career opportunities.
A spokesman for Maplin said: “We have enjoyed working with Ryan and sorry to see him leave.”
The electricals retailer hired online marketing consultancy Summit to review its multichannel strategy to fully integrate its in-store and online businesses last August.
The retailer has been working to integrate an online offer to its stores and will have rolled out Wi-Fi to its 204-store estate after striking a deal with provider The Cloud. The wi-fi service will allow customers to read product reviews online, check-in, or discuss their purchases on Facebook or Twitter.
Maplin will personalise its online promotions based on shoppers’ browsing histories and promote a range of tailored products and promotions via the branded wi-fi landing page following the roll-out. It is also in the process of re-platforming its website and revamping its stores, both projects are expected to be complete by the autumn.
