Marc Van Pappelendam has replaced Jim Allaker as Nike vice president and general manager of the UK and Ireland.

Allaker has become the new chief executive and president of Nike subsidiary Umbro.

Van Pappelendam, was most recently the vice president, general manager of Nike East and Central Europe. He previously held the role of head of commerce for the former Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Nike president of global operations Gary DeStefano said: “Marc is a proven leader who will drive continued growth for the UK and Ireland market.”

He added: “The UK market is crucial as we increase focus on core category business areas and create stronger consumer connections.”
