Poundstretcher has made several new appointments to support its future growth ambitions following its purchase by Majestic Wine owner Fortress.
The new hires will support its commercial and store operations team, with ex-Morrisons operations director Miles Foster joining the executive team at Poundstretcher in the same role.
Foster worked at Morrisons for 35 years and will now lead more than 300 stores while overseeing the retailer’s growth plan. Foster’s team will also include ex-Morrisons’ Liz Harris, who will run the retail operations team.
The trading team is being bolstered by the appointment of new group commercial director Tony Fearon, who worked at Boots, Booker and Morrisons across FMCG, fresh and general merchandise buying.
The value retail chain has also employed a new head of trading for FMCG, head of trading for pet, head of loss prevention and several area managers with experience from B&M, One Beyond, Morrisons and Asda.
Poundstretcher chief executive Andy Atkinson said: “As we start this long and important journey, I am delighted that such a talented group of leaders have chosen to take the next step in their careers with us.
“These people are the best in the industry, and share our values in supporting our colleagues and putting customers first. These are exciting times ahead for Poundstretcher.”
