Former Greggs chief executive Roger Whiteside is taking on a senior non-executive role on the board of Card Factory.
Whiteside is to replace Octavia Morley as senior independent non-executive director when she steps down at the end of January 2023.
Morley has been on the board since 2014 as a senior independent non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committee.
The gifts and party decorations retailer said it was not looking to recruit a further non-executive director as it felt the “balance of skills and experience” on its board was appropriate for current requirements.
Card Factory chair Paul Moody said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Octavia for her invaluable contribution to Card Factory over the past nine years. Octavia has always provided clear counsel and commercial insight to the board and as chair of the remuneration committee has helped navigate us through the increasingly tricky landscape of executive remuneration.
“I have enjoyed working with Octavia and very much appreciated her pragmatism, courage and direct engagement on, sometimes, challenging issues. We wish Octavia continued success with her non-executive portfolio.”
Whiteside stepped down from the helm of Greggs in May, after nine years of leading the high street bakery. He has been on the board of Card Factory since 2017.
