Home shopping giant Shop Direct Group has hired Debenhams’ Mark Woods as group creative director.
Woods was visual and creative director at Debenhams, the department store chain, and before that spent 21 years at Burton group where he worked across store design, marketing and branding.
He will report to Shop Direct group retail director Gareth Jones, working closely with the group retail product and production teams.
Jones said: “It is an exciting time to be involved in the development of our brands such as Very and this is a significant appointment that matches our creative ambitions.”
Shop Direct, which comprises young fashion womenswear retailers Very and Littlewoods, and mainstream womenswear retailers Kays and Marshall Ward, is expected to return to profit this year. It narrowed losses from £114m to £21m for the year to April 30.
Woods’ start date has yet to be confirmed.
