Shop Direct has given deputy chief executive Gareth Jones a new role as part of a board reshuffle, his second in the past two months.
Jones will now share the position of group chief operating officer, presently held by Neil Chandler. The move comes just two months after Jones was appointed deputy chief executive. He held the role of retail and strategy director before that.
Chandler will succeed departing Andy Hart as financial services chief executive, but retain IT and legal responsibilities held in his present role. Other elements of the group chief operating officer role will be taken over by Jones.
The etailer has also promoted retail finance director Greg Pateras to group finance director, succeeding Mark McMenemy, who is due to retire as an executive after three years at Shop Direct.
Meanwhile former retail director for Shop Direct’s Very and Isme brands Jon Owen will take over as group retail brands director after three years at the company. He will work alongside group product director Matt Dixon.
The positions will all come into effect early in the new year.
Shop Direct chief executive Alex Baldock said: “We work hard to cultivate talent at Shop Direct. Congratulations to Greg and Jon, two home-grown rising stars, and to Gareth and Neil, both lynchpins of our transformation so far. This team can take us to the next level in our journey towards being a world-class digital retailer.
“Meanwhile, many thanks to Mark and Andy, who have played key roles in our recent resurgence. We are determined to build on that to become a true leader in ecommerce.”
