Lifestyle retailer Fat Face has suffered another blow to its ecommerce arm with the resignation of ecommerce and communications director Dan Miles, less than four months after taking the role.
Miles, who originally joined Fat Face as marketing director, took on the ecommerce role when home shopping director Kristine Kirby left in May.
Fat Face chairman Alan Giles said: “Dan’s background is in marketing and we asked him to take on ecommerce as well when Kristine left. He’s given it a go but decided the ecommerce side is not for him.”
He added: “Ecommerce is a very important part of our business because it covers home shopping and telephone orders as well as web so we will take our time to replace Dan.”
Fat Face chief executive Anthony Thompson will cover the role until a replacement is recruited.
Fat Face restructured its finances in March and is due to make 18 redundancies in early September. Giles admitted business had been through a “difficult period”.
He declined to give a like-for-like sales figure but said speculation that the company was trading 30% down on last year was “wildly overestimated”.
