Primark has plans to open a 90,000 sq ft flagship store in Milton Keynes.
The value fashion retailer has signed up to open a store at shopping centre thecentre:mk, as part of a £40m investment by the development to open up 107,000 sq ft of retail space at Secklow Gate.
Primark will trade across three floors at the new store, plans for which will be showcased by thecentre:mk’s joint owners Hermes Property Asset Management and Prudential Property Investment Managers at a public exhibition in the area today and tomorrow.
A Primark spokesperson said: “We look forward to opening a new store at thecentre:mk. Milton Keynes provides an ideal location for Primark as it meets our requirements for store locations and is already a popular destination for our target customer.”
The project follows a major investment in the existing centre which includes a £27m extension and refurbishment at John Lewis, a £6m refit at Next and a £4.5m refurbishment at House of Fraser.
CBRE and GCW are the leasing agents at thecentre:mk.
