The Hut, owner of etail sites including MyProtein and Glossybox, is taking space in Salford’s MediaCityUK to house its growing technology team.
Next month, The Hut will occupy about 16,000 square feet on the 10th floor of Orange Tower, with neighbours including Kellogg’s and ITV.
Chief executive Matthew Moulding said: “We are delighted to establish this additional base in the North. The space and facilities are ideal for our expanding technology team.
“The concentration of highly creative and innovative businesses working in MediaCityUK, together with the lively business community, means we can tap into the talent pool there.”
The move follows The Hut’s plans to open additional offices at Manchester Airport.
The etailer has expanded rapidly since its launch in 2004, doubling the number of staff to more than 4,000 in 2017, creating the need for more office space.
The Hut recently announced a record-breaking year. Gross profit increased by 51% to £318m in the year ending 31 December, 2017. It expects to increase its workforce by another 2,000 in 2018.
