US lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret is understood to be on the verge of signing its first UK store on London’s New Bond Street.
The retailer has been eyeing stores in the capital for some time. It is thought the retailer considered the former Nokia store on Regent Street, which the mobile phone operator exited this year, but decided it was too small. Sources close to the situation said the retailer is now close to signing for a store on upmarket New Bond Street.
The UK plans of Victoria’s Secret were revealed last year by Retail Week, when Martin Waters, executive vice-president of the retailer’s parent Limited Brands, said the UK is a target for flagship Victoria’s Secret stores. “We just need the right site,” he said.
