Debenhams will this month open as anchor at the extended Kingfisher Centre in Redditch, Worcestershire.
The Debenhams store will be in the extended Walford Walk, which also includes new shops for Vision Express Optical Lab, New Look and HMV. Only six prime units remain available, through Douglas Stevens & Co.
The opening is part of a£70 million investment by landlord Thornfield Properties, which has extended floorspace at the centre from 60,400 sq m to more than 93,000 sq m.
The first development phase opened, fully let, last month, with two variety stores let to TJ Hughes and Wilkinson. The phase also includes an indoor food hall, a health and fitness club, and five smaller units.
At the same time, Evesham Walk has been refurbished and extended, with new first floor stores for TK Maxx and JJB Sports. Ground floor units have been let to Phones 4U, The Perfume Shop, BB’s Coffee & Muffins, Bonmarche, MKOne, Spencer Gifts, Dr & Herbs and Gilesports. The last two units are under offer.
Thornfield will now start the final phase of its regeneration scheme, introducing 2,785 sq m of new retail space in Park Walk by the end of next year.
