The last remaining TJ Hughes stores still trading are to be shuttered, with closing down Sales commencing immediately.
The closure of the five remaining stores follow the 12 that were shut last week. Before that, 31 stores had closed.
The five stores are in:
- Bradford
- Doncaster
- Lichfield
- Sunderland
- Wrexham
Tom Jack, Joint Administrator at Ernst & Young , said: “A purchaser for these remaining stores was not found, and regrettably we have had to schedule these final store closures.
“We are extremely grateful to the employees and management at all the Group’s stores for their loyalty and support during this very difficult time.
“During the Administration we are pleased to have been successful in selling six TJ Hughes stores, which has safeguarded over 700 jobs across the UK.”
Ernst & Young said employees affected by these closures are being offered “appropriate support and advice” throughout the redundancy process and Jobcentre Plus representatives are providing support to help find future employment.
TJ Hughes hit the buffers in June, as revealed by Retail Week.
