Without doubt the worlds most competitive retail market is the UK which has more retail space per capita than any other comparable market.

As such American and foreign brands find it very difficult to achieve a profitable business of any size and those that do are exceptional .

Gap is no longer in that category and will withdraw from the UK over the next 2 years as no American will ever concede that what they do in the USA will work everywhere. It does not .
