having been to more than one of the stores I can see why sales are proving to be difficult.

the ranges are not that different to what I can find in competitors and critically online , the store environment is best described as heaving with product and not really any different to anyone else.

the staff however were better than I have come across in other card/gift retailers.

card/gift is an extremely difficult industry to make money in and given the size of stores required that have to be in strong footfall locations the store break evens are going to be quite high leaving little time for the business to be able to build awareness and sales.

fundamentally however it looks like Clintons mark 2 and without the awareness of that failed brand it will take a long time to get to profitability and that requires very deep pockets.
