In response to Anonymous who says that Lord Hain 'abused his parliamentary privilege', the majority of legal commentators were very concerned at the decision that an NDA agreement outweighed public interest in allegations of a very serious nature against a high profile person.
"By Thursday morning, The Telegraph had spoken to a series of high-profile lawyers and campaigners who expressed their outrage. “These [NDAs] should not be used to gag people who have been at the receiving end of potential criminal behaviour and it is really unlawful and unethical for lawyers to be using them for that reason,"
Of course the law should be followed rigorously, and allegations should be tested by a trial of the person involved, to prove guilt or innocence.
However, it is clear that personal wealth should not be a means of preventing subjects of public interest being publicised.
