The single biggest danger facing the largest majority of smaller retailers is the end of the rent moratorium.

The lease in most cases, under contract law permits the landlord to collect the rent despite in most cases 4 months loss of sales and up to 35% sales downturn when open .

Either extend the moratorium or give retailers the option to pay the outstanding balance and end the lease or extend under new terms more fitting for today’s market

A percentage of sales and a low minimum is the way forward.
