It will be criminal if we have the all-too-familiar pre-pack escape route, as this is clearly a dead duck of a business regardless of size or shape.

I have no sympathy for landlords who charge suffocating rents and then wring their hands about empty units when businesses die, but a lot of Thresher's units are long-standing leases and the business has been withering over years. It would be wrong, and make life more difficult for those retailers who can salvage something through such arrangements, if we have the pre-pack con operating here.

But I have every sympathy with the employees of the business, who have struggled and done their best although it has been clear for a long time that FQ isn't viable.
