Somerfield is to implement a new product development system (NPD) from Ramesys for its own-label strategy within subsidiary Kwik Save.
The Kwik Save scheme is expected to yield£400 million in sales if the performance of the past four months continues for the rest of the year.
This positive response meant the retailer had to replace its existing paper-based systems.
Somerfield associate director for quality assurance Stephen Ridge said: 'We need to remove the constraints encountered, namely speed to market for new products, increasing volume without increasing overheads, and improving visibility across the NPD process.'
