After 24 hours of frantic activity, Uberated have been crowned the winner of the Retail Week Hackathon in association with Yext.
Taking place during Retail Week Buzz at the O2 Intercontinental, the Hackathon tasked the teams – consisting of retailers, start-ups and service providers – with building a solution that drives online shoppers into store locations.
Uberated wowed the judging panel with its VIP Experience. The solution works out the specific online product categories which customers are browsing, but not buying, and then offers a face-to-face meeting with an expert sales colleague to guide the customer through that purchase and book a demo of the product, offering expert advice and added incentives such as coupons.
This was a genuine customer-centric solution that was highly-praised by the judges for encouraging upsell and driving customers into stores.
Judges said this innovative winning solution is one they would implement – “it’s accessible, elegant and easy to deploy with broad appeal to retailers,” the panel said.
The judges, consisting of digital and tech experts from leading UK retailers, awarded One Iota and Asos runners up trophies.
“This was a genuine customer-centric solution that was highly-praised by the judges for encouraging upsell and driving customers into stores”
They applauded One Iota for a “brilliantly executed presentation that brought to life a customer experience in the changing room”.
The fitting room solution app was innovative, multifaceted and solved a genuine retail problem, judges said.
Meanwhile, Asos “really pushed themselves and presented a faultless hack”, according to the judges.
Their questioning minds, ambition and professionalism was applauded by the judges, many of whom felt the solution would be an asset in their business.
