River Island is scouring Australia for stores and has launched a dedicated website in the country today.
River Island follows other British fashion retailers including Topshop and Asos to the country.
River Island chief executive Ben Lewis said: “We’re excited to launch our Australian online store and are looking forward to opening a physical presence in the country.
“Australia is a key market for River Island, and in addition to our Northern Hemisphere range we’ll be offering a product designed especially for Australian shoppers.”
River Island identified Australia as a key destination following demand there after it launched its international shipping service in November 2011.
The website is being tailored for the Australian market as River Island is now developing a homepage and newsletters that are season-appropriate.
The retailer is adding to its existing collection of dedicated websites for the UK, France and the US.
River Island ships to 100 countries worldwide. The retailer operates more than 40 franchised stores in Europe, the Middle East and Asia in addition to its 248 UK stores. On Saturday it opens its largest London store in Park House on Oxford Street.
