Fashion giant River Island revealed its latest store design at the opening of its new flagship store on London’s Oxford Street last Friday.

The two-floor outlet, a former Superdrug store at the east side of Oxford Circus, features a coffered, Art Deco-style metal ceiling, a checkout area decorated with ceiling roses on its back wall and lighting elements made from fibre-optic strands.

Both floors – womenswear on the ground level and menswear in the basement – contain antique furniture and merchandise displays in place of graphics and photo-graphic images.

Many of the design features were tested at -River Island’s Brent Cross branch in north London, although the flagship makes use of additional display and decorative elements.
